Description
Summary:Ulfa, Mellya. 2016. The Influences of Total Physical Response Towards Students’s Listening Skill to Third Grade Students of Mi Sabilillah Elementary School Sampang-Madura. A thesis Submitted as partial fulfillment of the requirements for the Sarjana degree of English Deparment, Faculty of Humanities, Airlangga University. The aim of this study is to know the influence of Total Physical Response toward student’s listening skill. The writer conducted this study in Sabilillah Elementary School, she chose mathematics and science class as the sample of study and decided mathematics as control group while science as experimental group. She chose the sample based on purposive sampling. The writer gave pre-test and post-test also treatment to both groups. In experimental group was taught by using TPR while in control group not using TPR. The writer used Mann U Whitney in testing the hypothesis. The writer concluded that there is significance difference in student’s listening skill between students who taught by using TPR and who are not taught by using TPR. It is proved by the significance value in Mann U Whitney is 0.02 where the value is lower than 0.05. Thus, the Null hypothesis (H0) is rejected and the Alternate hypothesis (H1) is accepted. It means that Total Physical Response has influenced the listening skill of students.
