| Summary: | The aim of this study was to calculate the prevalence of blood protozoa infection
in quail in several sub-districts in Jombang. Purposive sampling method was used
to choose the quail farm in Jombang. One hundred quail blood samples were
collected from three sub-districts of Jombang which were Peterongan, Jombang
and Diwek. The blood smear samples were then stained using 10% Giemsa
solution. The presence of the blood’s protozoa in quail was determined
microscopically and found Leucocytozoon sp totally in 10 out of 100 blood
samples (10%). There was no difference significanly of the presence of
Leucocytozoon sp in age of the quail. |
