Description
Summary:The research was conducted to identify non specific bacteria in the dairy cattle reproductive tract on follicular and the luteal phase in the cooperative business "Tunas Setia Baru" Pasuruan, subdisdtric Tutur. The material used in this study is 7 sample of cervical mucus in follicular phase and 7 sample of cervical mucus in luteal phase, taken by cutting on plastic sheet tip during Artificial Insemination. Then the samples that had been collected in isolation using selective media and general media were continued with Gram staining to determine the morphology and it was characterized. Spore, Motility,TSIA, Mannitol and Glucose test were performed after Gram and bacterial morphology were found to determine the genus of bacteria in the colony. The results of this study are indicated that the genus of bacteria identified were the same in both phases, among others, Corynebacterium, Staphylococcus and Escherichia. In the follicular phase genus Corynebacterium was more identified, where as in the luteal phases genus Staphylococcus and genus Eschirichia were more identified. In the follicular phase it should be found less bacteria due to estrogen that suppressed bacterial growth. The fact of the field showed that there were still identified non specific bacteria in the follicular phase, this was due to bad environmental hygiene, inseminator hygienie and lack of awareness of breeders for the health and hygiene of their livestock.
