Summary:This research was to know the effect of addition beta carotene toward body weight fetal of mice (Mus musculus) that exposured by smoke of cigarette. Twenty females of mice betwen 2 months old and their body weight 25-30 grams. The samples divided into 5 groups and each group got 4 repetitions. Negative control was treated with soya oil without beta carotene and positive control was treated with soya oil and it was exposured by smoke 1 stick per day. Beta carotene’s dosage divided into 3 different dosages. Each groups, P1, P2, P3 were given 32,5 IU/20g BB, 65 IU/20g BB, 130 IU/20g BB perspectively. The mice was given treatment 0,2 ml/20g BB mice/day orally and it was exposured by smoke 1 stick/mice/day after 6 hours from the treatment. The treatment were done 10 days pregnant period for during 6th untill 15th day.The first day of pregnant period has known with looking for vaginal plug of mice. Completely Randomized Design (CRD) were used and the data were analyzed by ANOVA (Analysis of Varience) than continued by Duncan test (p<0.05). The result showed that the beta carotene have significant effect to body wight of fetal, especially in the treatment group P1 and P2.
