Summary: | Menarche is first menstruation for female adolescents during puberty period, happened at aged 11-14 years old. Menarche in Indonesia was moving toward a younger age. There are many factors that can affect menarche age such as nutrition status, mass media, etc. In this case mass media inform is smartphone. Stimulation effect of smartphone usage and leptin in body active interaction between hypotalamus, pituitary hormon and gonad to make menarche age faster. This study was to determine relationship between smartphone exposure and nutrition status with menarche age in SMP Muhammadiyah 5 Surabaya.
This research used observational analytic study and cross sectional approach. The sample in this study was the students who attented the research on April, 2017 and comply the inclusion criteria. Accidental sampling used to choose the sample. The analyze correlation between independent and dependent variables used Chi-Square test.
Results from 65 respondents by statistical tests found: 1) Smartphone Usage-Menarche Age, with p value < 0.05 (0.004). 2) Nutrition status-Menarche Age, with p value > 0.05 (0.133).
These data show that: 1) Smartphone exposure have relation with menarche age. 2) Nutrition status have no relation with menarche age. |
