Description
Summary:The purpose of this research is to know the influence of red chili extract (Capsicum annuum L.) in any dosages on the blood glucose decreasing of rat (Rattus norvegicus). The research method was an experiment that used pre and post test control group design, using 25 rats which was given alloxan and divided into 5 groups, group I as a positive control, group II as a negative control, group III was given red chili extract in the dosage of 200 mg/Kg BW, group IV was given red chili extract with the dosage of 400 mg/Kg BW and group V was given red chili extract with the dosage of 800 mg/Kg BW. Comparison analysis between the groups that was given red chili extract (Capsicum annuum L.) were analyzed with Anova Factorial test that analyzed further using Duncan’s Multiple Range test. Blood glucose level of rats prior to treatment did not have significant level (p>0,05), the level of blood glucose of rats after alloxan induction did not have significant level (p>0,05) and blood glucose level of rats after given treatment on group III, IV and V had significant level (p<0,05). The conclusion of this research showed that red chili extract could decrease the level of blood glucose.
