| Summary: | Introduction: the competence of the mental health nurse is a specification of the
competence of the nursing profession that has basic scientific background
(generalist) as well as advanced and work experience in various order of mental
health services. The purpose of this study was to determine the correlation of
mental health nurse competence with the ability of patient handling violence in
Rumah Sakit Jiwa Menur Surabaya
Method : This research use correlation by using total sampling purposive
sampling that obtained 30 respondent. Data was collected by competence of
mental health nurses and handling capabilities using a questionnaire.
Result : Data were analyzed with cross sectional test. The cross test shows p =
0,007 (p≤0,05). This means that the competence of the soul nurse has a
relationship with the handling ability of the patient's violent behavior
Discussion: The data concluded that the relationship of mental health nurse
competence in handling patient patient handling violent behavior has enough
category which means related to each other. |
