According to current report by the Indonesian Ministry of Health in 2017, there were still 2,101 new cases of perinatal HIV/AIDS. UNAIDS data from 2016 also stated that only 14% of pregnant mothers with HIV and her children receive anti-retroviral therapy. This shows that PMTCT program was not optimally implemented. Objective: The aim of this study was to investigate the association of factors linked with vertical transmission of HIV to better understand and to help increase the efficacy of PMTCT in Indonesia Method: This was a retrospective study. Timing of ART initiation in pregnancy, gestational age, mode of delivery, initiation of prophylaxis ART in infant, and breastfeeding cessation data were collected from medical records fulfilling the inclusion criteria. Comparison of said factors and MTCT are tested with chi square test and its correlation strength were established from its contingency coefficient. Results: Of a total of 60 subjects, the dominant age group was 25-49 with the mean of age 30 years old. 8.34% of infants were HIV positive. Among all factors linked with MCTC, timing of ART initiation in pregnancy (p= 0.037 r= 0.331), initiation of prophylaxis ART in infant (p = 0.016 r= 0.436), and breastfeeding cessation (p = 0.006 r = 0.524) has correlation with MTCT. Whereas gestational age (p = 0.318) and mode of delivery (p = 0.094) did not have correlation with MTCT. Conclusion: Timing of ART initiation in pregnancy, initiation of prophylaxis ART in infant, and breastfeeding cessation were associated with risk of MTCT Keywords: perinatal HIV/AIDS, PMTCT, ART, breastfeeding cessation. 2018 Thesis NonPeerReviewed text id http://repository.unair.ac.id/76939/1/ABSTRACT.pdf text id http://repository.unair.ac.id/76939/2/FK.%20PD.%2085-18%20Sav%20f.pdf Myrna Dianita Savitri, NIM011511133136 (2018) FAKTOR-FAKTOR YANG MEMPENGARUHI PENULARAN HIV DARI IBU KE ANAK.
