Summary: | The purpose of this research is to know the acaricide potency of ethanol extract of Red Betel Leaf (Piper cocratum Ruiz & Pav) against Ophionyssus natricis Mite In Vitro. Method that used in this research was completely randomized design. There were five treatments and each treatment was done in four replications. This research used five Ophionyssus natricis in each treatment for all replications. The observation and recording of the dead Ophionyssus natricis was done at 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 hours. Ophionyssus natricis declared as dead if there was no movement when the mites rested in a dry dish about 15 minutes and it disturbed by anatomy tweezers. The obtained data was analyzed using ANOVA and continued with Duncan Multiple Range Test. The result of this research show that the Red Betel Leaf extract has acaricide effect against Ophionyssus natricis Mite in vitro, in the extract with 12,5% concentration, there is acaricide property that almost same as Ivermectin. The more higher the concentration of the extract, the higher the property of its acaricide. In probit analysis show that LD₅ ₀ was 1,182% at 1 hours, 0,997% at 2 hours, 0,668% at 3 hours, 0,377% at 4 and 5 hours. |
