Summary: | The fire in Surabaya has increase in incidence frequency. In 2017, total of
fire incident in Surabaya reached 589 cases with total losses due to fires reaching
Rp. 18,209 billion. This total increased compared to 2016 which only recorded
300 cases. Even during January to May 2018 there have been 110 cases of fire
incident. Fire disasters have caused trauma to victims, especially areas that are
often and at risk of disasters such as in Kampung Keputih Tegal Timur Baru.
Efforts to rise from an unfavorable mental state or psychological shock then lead
to the original condition, it takes a resilience capability. This study aims to
appraise the resilience capacity of the community at household level after a fire
disaster in Kampung Keputih Tegal Timur Baru Surabaya.
This research is an observational study with descriptive research design
using a cross sectional study approach. The data used is primary data from
interviews with a questionnaire at 10 households. Data and information were
analyzed descriptively which were presented in the final form of narratives and
spider diagram images with Community Based Resilience Analysis (CoBRA)
concept which showed resilience capacity of the community.
The results showed that community resilience capacity was high on natural
resilience and physical resilience. Human resilience capacity has moderate
resilience. But community resilience capacity is low on financial resilience and
social resilience.
The community are expected to get to know and improve the resilience
capacity of their households. Such as building a legal and permanent residence, or
submitting a request to live in a rented apartment owned by the Surabaya City
government, to avoid illegal and non-permanent buildings that are vulnerable to
fire. |
