Summary: | This researched aims to determine the effect of Sappan (Caesalpinia sappan L.) wood extract on total PMN cells on incision wounds in rats (Rattus norvergicus). The method was randomized posted-only control group design. Total of twenty male rats were randomly devided into five groups, there were negative control (K-) treated with ointment base, positive control (K+) treated with Povidone iodine 10%, treated groups (P1, P2, P3) treated with Sappan wood extract ointment 16,25%; 12,5%; and 25%. Treatment had been given directly on the incision area topically twice a day for five days. The data was analyzed One-way Anova and continued with Duncan test. The results of the One-way ANOVA showed in each treatment was significant diffeence (p<0.05) with p value p =0.000 between control and treatment group. The conclusion of this study was giving Sappan wood (Caesalpinia sappan L.) extract can reduce the number of PMN cell in incision wound of rats (Rattus norvegicus). |
