Summary:The prevalence of Hypertension disease mostly occur to the old people, however it apparently disposed rises to the group of productive age from year to year, many hypertension accusatives do not recognise to symptoms of this disease so that is match to the data of RISKESDAS (2013). The prevalence of Hypertension in Indonesia based on the result of a measurement on more than 18 years old are 25,8 percent or 65.048.110 people. Methods : This research use crosssectional design. The population in this research was 21.614 student of Universitas Airlangga, Surabaya and obtained sample of 393 student by used cluster sampling technique. Data was collected by observation of blood pressure and next questionairs than analyzed by used chi square with α ≤ 0.05. Results : The result of this research indicates relation between nutrient (BMI) (p = 0,000, OR = 1,299), physical activity (0,031, OR = 1,582) sleep quality (p = 0,041, OR = 1,527), smoking habit (p = 0,025, OR = 1,622), coffee consumption (p = 0,037, OR = 1,537) and stress (p = 0,026, OR = 1,585) with the risk of hypertension on the student. Disscusion: nutrient (BMI), physical activity, sleep quality, smoking habit, coffee consumption, stress have significant relation to the risk of hypertension. The next research is suggested for giving intervention on the same respondent subject to follow up this research.
