The aim of this study was to test the in vitro cytotoxic effect of the red fruit’s extract on cell culture of myeloma. The concentrations of red fruit extract used were 5, 2.5, 1.25, 0.625 and 0.312 mg/ml. Methanol was used as solution control in five different concentrations (10; 5; 2.5; 1.25; and 0.625) mg/ml while RPMI was used as negative control. The solution was added into the myeloma cell culture in microwell plate and incubated for 24 hours at 37ºC in CO2 incubator. The anticancer activity was determined using the viability of myeloma cell. The data showed that the extract of red fruit (Pandanus conoideus) has a weak anticancer activity when the extract caused significant (p<0.05) reduction in viability of myeloma cells compared to negative control. However, the positive control revealed a much more reduction in viability, significantly (p<0.05) less than the red fruit extract.
