Summary: | This study is aimed to know the potential of juwet leaf extract as adjuvant therapy
on brain of mice (Mus musculus) which infected by Plasmodium berghei. Thirty
mice divided into six groups namely K0 as negative control group without
infection, K+ as positive control infected by Plasmodium berghei 1x105 in 0,2 ml
without therapy, K1 infected and treated by chloroquine, K2 infected and treated
by juwet leaves extract, P1 infected and treated by nanoparticles juwet leaves
extract and P2 which infected and treated by chloroquine with nanoparticles juwet
leaves extract. The data were analyzed by Kruskal Wallis using SPSS and
followed with Mann-Whitney test. This research result showed there was
significant difference (p < 0.05) between K1 and P2, but did not showed
significant difference (p > 0.05) with K+, K2 and P1. The results showed
nanoparticles juwet leaves (Syzygium cumini) extract as adjuvant therapy has an
effect on histopathological features of mice’s cerebellum infected by Plasmodium
berghei. |
