Summary: | Compliance with the usage of PPE can be influenced by predisposing factors,
enabling factors and reinforcing factors. The purpose of this study was to study
the description of the factors related to compliance of building frame workers
toward compliance with the usage of PPE at PT Pembangunan Perumahan
(Persero) Tbk. Grand Dharmahusada Lagoon Project.
This was a descriptive study with observational approach. Population of this
study were all building frame workers (24 people). Instruments of this study were
form of interviews and observation sheets. Variables of this study were
predisposing factors (age, years of service, education, knowledge), enabling
factors (availability of PPE, socialization of the use of PPE, safety signs at work),
and reinforcing factors (supervision, sanctions, awards). Data were analyzed
descriptively using cross tabulation.
The results showed that the highest compliance behavior was found in
respondents aged 41-50 years (28.6%), working period of 4-6 years (22.2%),
higher education level (100%) and moderate knowledge (15 , 4%).
It can be concluded that the older the workers, the longer the work the periods,
the higher the levels of education and moderate levels of knowledge the better the
levels of compliance with PPE usage would be. It is recommended that the
company should provide sanctions and rewards, increase supervision and conduct
socialization or training towards workers regarding compliance with the usage of
PPE. |
