Summary: | The aims of this research was to know the effect of mangosteen (Garcinia mangostana L) peel infusion on increasing the capacitation percentage on spermatozoa of white rats (Rartus norvegicus). The inspection of semen feasibility was done for further treatment. The treatment were devided into five groups with 5 rats in each group. The treatments are rats that were exposed in sunlight for 15 minutes and was given aguabides (PO), rats that were exposed in sunlight for 15 minutes and was given vitamin C (P1), rats that were exposed in sunlight for 15 minutes and was given mangosteen peel infusion 5 Yo (P2), rats that were exposed in sunlight for 15 minutes and was given mangosteen peel infusion 10 Yo (P3), and rats that were exposed in sunlight for 15 minutes and was given mangosteen peel infusion 15 Yo (P4). Rats were given adaptation time for 1 week, then be given treatment for 2 weeks. In the end of treatment, semen of rats were taken from the epididimis tract, then the capacitation spermatozoa was checked by reagent FITC (Flourescent Isotiocianat). Data were compared using Kruskal-Wallis test and Mann Whitney. The result showed that on P4 have the highest capacitation presentage (21,20) that not significantly difference with P3 (17,00), whereas PO have the lowest effect (4,80) and P1 and P2 have same capacitation presentage (11,00). The result show that mangosteen peel infusion 10 Yo and 15 Y4 can increase capacitation presentage on white rats (Rattus norvegicus).
