| Summary: | Monitor lizard (Varanus salvator) are animals that use their skin as handicraft,
meat fo consumption, and bile for traditional medicine. The purpose of this
research was to identify pentastomide worms found in monitor lizard taken from
monitor lizard in Tulangan, Sidoarjo. Thrity-eight monitor lizard were decropped
and their lungs were taken to be extracted and there were three positive sampels
obtained by pentastomide. The sampels was taken to the Parasitic Laboratory
Veterinary Medicine University of Airlangga to be stained with Semichen Acetic
Carmine. The result coloring extract obtained by infected paarasites is female
pentastomide. This pentastomid is female because it has a long oval shape, the
mouth forms an oval, between the mouth there are hooks, a tapered tail, and an
anal opening |
