Summary: | This study aims to determine the antioxidant potential of Moringa oleifera leaves on the percentage of rat (Rattus norvegicus) spermatozoa capacitation exposed to high temperatures. This study used 18, 2.5 month rats with an average weight of 200 grams. There were 3 treatment groups with six white rats each, K- as a negative control, no exposure to high temperatures and moringa leaf extract. K + as a positive control, given exposure to high temperatures (40oC for 60 minutes) and without moringa leaf extract. P as a treatment, given a high temperature exposure (40oC for 60 minutes) and given 200mg / kgBW Moringa leaf extract was dissolved with 1% CMC-Na. The study was conducted for 14 days and was given orally. The study was analyzed using Variant Analysis (ANOVA) and continued with Duncan's multiple range test to find out the real difference between treatments.
The results showed that K- has a low percentage of capacitation of 0.00% ± 0.00, K + has a percentage of capacitation of 1.00% ± 0.38 and P has a low capacity percentage of 0.00% ± 0.00. The conclusion from the results of this study is that P has a low percentage of capacitation, thus proving that moringa leaf extract can prevent the spermatozoa capacitation of Rattus norvegicus rats exposed to high temperatures. |
