Summary: | This study was conducted to determine the effect of Centella asatica extract and Lactobacillus acidophilus probiotics on the percentage of hybrid duck’s abdominal fat and carcass. This study used 20 hybrid ducks that divided in four treatments groups. The experimental method uses Completely Randomized Design with four treatments groups, namely P0 (control), P1 (1% Centella asiatica extract and Lactobacillus acidophilus 108 CFU/ml), P2 (2% Centella asiatica extract and Lactobacillus acidophilus 108 CFU/ml), and P3 (3% Centella asiatica extract and Lactobacillus acidophilus 108 CFU/ml). The treatment was given once a day during the grower phase for 5 weeks. At the end of experiment, the sixth week, data was collected in the form of abdominal fat weight and carcass weight. Abdominal fat weight and carcass weight were converted in percentage form by dividing abdominal fat weight or carcass weight with duck’s final weight. The result then analyzed using Analysis of Variant showed that there were no significant differences (p> 0.05) in each treatment group. The analysis showed that the differences concentration of Centella asiatica extract and probiotics Lactobacillus acidophilus had no significant effect in reducing the percentage of abdominal fat and had no significant effect on increasing the percentage of hybrid duck carcasses. |
