HUBUNGAN ANTARA PERUBAHAN SUDUT INTERINSISAL DAN RASIO TINGGI WAJAH ANTERIOR ATAS DAN BAWAH

Class II division 1 malocclusion treatment using Begg technique could influence interincisal angle, lower anterior face height (LAFH) and the ratio of upper and lower anterior face height (UAFH/LAFH). Changes in interincisal angle caused by horizontal force of class II intermaxillary elastic, while changes in the UAFH/LAFH mainly caused by increased of LAFH which affect by extrution of mandibular molar result from vertical force of class II intermaxillary elastic. The purpose of this research is to determine the correlation between interincisal angle, LAFH and UAFH/LAFH in class II division 1 malocclusion treated with Begg technique. This research was evaluated lateral cephalograms which obtained from 15 subjects above 20 years old, class II division 1 malocclusion, had orthodontic treatment using Begg technique with four first premolar extraction. Interincisal angle, UAFH (measured from Nasion/N to Anterior Nasal Spine/ANS) and LAFH (measured from Anterior Nasal Spine/ANS to Menton/M) before and after treatment was measured. The changing of interincisal angle, LAFH and UAFH/LAFH then analized using Product moment Pearson correlation analysis and Regression analysis. At the end of the treatment, there was an increase of interincisal angle (24,37°±11,00°) and LAFH (2,61±2,48) while there was a decreased of UAFH/LAFH (-0.028 ± 0.029). Product moment Pearson correlation analysis between interincisal angle, LAFH and UAFH/LAFH had p>0.05. The conclusion of this research was no correlation between interincisal angle, LAFH and UAFH/LAFH in class II division 1 malocclusion treated with Begg technique.
