Summary: | The area of Bayat District , Klaten Regency, Central Java Province is one of an highly
earthquake hazard-prone areas. In the 2006 earthquake, most of the area suffered from
building collapse. However, there are also areas that only experienced moderate and light
damages. This research aims to develop and to analysis earthquake risk disaster zoning in
Bayat District, Klaten Regency, Central Java Province.
Formulation of zoning of an earthquake disaster risk is based on Hyogo formula�s where risk
is a function of the hazard multiplied by vulnerability divided by capacity. The hazard
parameters include angle of slope, height difference, type of rock, loose sediments thickness,
groundwater depth, peak ground acceleration, and amplification. The parameters of the
vulnerability are percentage of houses of under qualified buildings, number of public facility
buildings, population, population density, number of people in vulnerable age, number of
disabled persons, number of traditional markets and stalls, as well as land use. The capacity
parameters include number of infrastructures of health, disaster relief agencies, and existence
and dissemination of disaster risk reduction. Each parameter is given a score of 1-3, as well
as given a weighting of 1 to 3, depending on the influence of each parameters to the risk of an
earthquake disaster. Data analysis used the overlay system utilizing Arc view software.
The end result of overlaying the hazard zoning , the vulnerability and the capacity zonings
using Hyogo formula�s is the zonation of earthquake disaster risk in Bayat District. From the
results show that most of the Bayat District has a moderate level of risk of earthquake
disaster. However, other parts have low or high levels of risk. |
