Summary:Osteosynthesis plates originally made of metal, such as 316L stainless steel and titanium. This is great material to corrosion, strong, tough, hard and permanent. However, a rigid metal plate interfere with the physiology of bone under the plate, so the use of plate fractures often occur after the appointment process. Therefore, it can be an al ternative to the use of polymer Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene (UHMWPE). UHMWPE is a polymer material including biomaterials and biocompatible. In this study the plate is designed as osteosynthesis plates on the hand bones of the upper arm (humerus) and forearm (radius and ulna). Plate designed with 4 types: type 1 with an elliptical hole and the hole position perpendicular to the plate, type 2 with an elliptical hole and the hole position cross each other on the plate, type 3 with a circle hole and the hole position perpendicular to the plate, type 4 with a circle hole and the hole position cross each other on plate. Of all the designs done finite element analysis using software inventors to find out the value of the stress distribution. Osteosynthesis plates design of the polymer material UHMWPE having analyzed qualify as an osteosynthesis plates due to the stress distribution obtained is smaller than the yield stress value of UHMWPE. The prototype implant osteosynthesis plates with a circle hole and the hole position perpendicular to the plate produces the maximum value stress distribution smaller than the yield stress value of UHMWPE. To plate two holes with dimensions 35 mm � 14 mm � 5 mm by 5 mm radius hole, 4 hole plate with dimensions 70 mm � 14 mm � 4 mm by 5 mm radius hole, 6 hole plate with dimensions 105 mm � 14 mm � 4 mm by 5 mm radius hole.
