ETD The research about T-junction as separator is still developed, especially for liquid-liquid flow to achieve more efficiency in geometry. Some works studied about separation characteristic in T-Junction with orientation vertical up side arm 900 with diameter inlet ratio 0.7 (Horizontal and vertical flex glass pipe diameter are 36 mm and 19 mm, respectively). The ratio of radii variation at Tjunction to inlet diameter horizontal pipe (r/Dh) is 0.14, 0.42 and 0.69, respectively. To lead kerosene flow into side arm, the downstream valve set at 50% and 75%, respectively. Some variables are measured included flow of kerosene and water which immersed via side arm and run arm to obtain its separation efficiency based on kerosene and water superficial velocity respect to test matrix. The downstream pressure and distribution pressure in T-Junction area was also measured. By visualization and measured data was summarized that the better phase separation is gained 0.98 Fake and 0.19 Fw at r/Dh = 0,42, water cut 70%, Jmix 0,52 m/s, downstream pressure 104375 Pa. The maximum separation efficiency 93% is happened at r/Dh = 0.14, water cut 46 %, Jmix = 0.31 m/s and r/Dh = 0.42, water cut 64 %, Jmix = 0.31 m/s. This condition happened at the same downstream pressure is 104473 Pa and flow pattern at stratified Bubble Interface dan 3L-1 jump. The ratio of radii variation at T-junction to inlet diameter horizontal pipe (r/Dh) influence phase separation characteristics, including of inlet diameter ratio, Bernoulli Effect and downstream resistance regulation.
