Description
Summary:Bacteria from sponges are one source of bioactive compounds. One of them is known as an antiplasmodial. This research was conducted to evaluate the antiplasmodial activity of compounds produced by bacteria from sponges, classified among bacteria from sponges were active as antiplasmodial by Rep- PCR, identified the species of bacteria based on the analysis 16S rRNA gene and characterize the compounds of the active extract antiplasmodial. Bacteria fermented and extracted with ethyl acetate which then assesed for heme polymerization inhibition assay and in vitro antiplasmodial activity assay. BOXA1R primer was used to analyze the Rep-PCR, while 27F and 1385R primers were used to analyze the 16S rRNA gen among bacteria were active antiplasmodial. Liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS) was used to analyze the compounds of the active extract antiplasmodial Among ten bacteria isolated examined, seven isolates showed good activity in heme polimerization assay. Among them, four isolates i.e BYT7, 102TP, BYT5C4 and BYT5C5 has moderate activity in vitro assay with IC50 value respectively 32,87±2,55
