Summary:The study aims at examining the myth that prevails and develops among Asmat. The topic is raised because there has not been any study of the Asmat myth. It uses anthropological method with Levi-Strauss structural paradigm with the primary data resulting from in-field study and the secondary data of books, articles, magazines, and other journals. The main problem of the study is what the morals of the Kaymenawut Terei Atakam myths are. The important findings of the study are: 1) The importance of the help of relatives, especially siblings for Asmat people. 2) The problems appertaining to incoming marriage by residential pattern after matrilocal marriage among Asmat people. 3) The position of women after marriage in Asmat people.
