Summary: | Spiritual life cannot be separated from the daily activities of every individual,
especially for the elderly, where a mature spiritual development will help elderly
people with chronic diseases to face the reality, play a role in the life and atif can
formulate the meaning and purpose of his existence in the world. But it was a
tough time for the elderly people with chronic illnesses who are in a weak
physical condition.
This research aims to understand the psychological dynamics of the subject by
way of understanding the motivational factors of chronic illness conditions
individuals in the exercise of spiritual life, the physical condition of the
helplessness of the illnesses suffered as Genesis press that must be faced,
pengatasan problems and strategies of the psychological problems of the elderly
who live a spiritual life in nursing and who do not live in nursing.
The subject of this research is the Elderly man or woman, Chronicle disease
sufferers are not limited by age, domiciled in nursing and still living with the
family. This research is qualitative research phenomenological approach. The
subject of research as much as chronic disease sufferers 4 people and 3 the
informer. Methods of analysis refers to Moustakas (1994): understanding
phenomenology description and elimination, classification and description of the
individual themes of the phenomenon.
Findings of this research are: a) the decision involved make the elderly face the
impact of the direct and indirect impact of the spiritual life that is lived everyday.
b) factors that encourage the spiritual needs of his fullest potential is an attempt to
meet the needs of a basic elderly himself, namely the need to survive, get the
compassion, love and support. c) psychological impact found: anxiety (fear), mild
depression, stress, and consistent in living the spiritual values, attitudes and the
bargaining challenge. |
