A company is required to constantly expand its business and obtain optimal benefits, so that the company can continue from time to time. The development of the company is to conduct the external expansion which is to acquire a business entity, merged or often referred to as mergers and acquisitions. Any company that take a corporate action of mergers and acquisitions certainly confidence the success of any action by the company, the success of a merger and acquisition is basically must be prepared prior the tender process of mergers and acquisitions carried out, which should be done by the bidder company is known the characteristics of the companies that will become the partner in the mergers and acquisitions. The purpose of this research is to analyze the financial characteristics of the target company who has the ability as the potential of a mergers and acquisitions partner in Indonesia, another goal is to analyze the variables that have a significant effect on the company which catch the attention of the target to provide as a mergers and acquisitions partner. Hypothesis testing has been done using Logit analysis and t-Test analysis, descriptive analysis used to support the regression test. Independent variables in this research are the variables used by the company financial bidders to assess the target company, while the dependent variable is the company acquired and non-acquired firms. The result showed that the independent variables were chosen to be tested is not considered as a variable that can affect a company preferred targets to act as partner in Indonesia.
