ETD The research aims to determine which factors that the most and least important for selecting wealth manager and to identify and analyze whether students from four institutions choose different factors of selection criteria for wealth manager. It is also analyze whether the developing country has the same characteristic or not in choosing the criteria. The instrument for collecting data is questionnaire with open and closed questionnaire. The respondents should select the main criteria but they also can give another criterion that might be fit with their requirement. The main criteria that will be ranked are 12 criteria which are based on the survey of IBM Business Consulting Services. They are quality of client service, confidentiality and security, quality of investment advice, image and reputation of the wealth manager, referrals from existing clients, investment performance, pricing of product and services, breadth of product range, access to other specialist services, extent of geographical coverage, family history and referrals from business introducers. The research result is image and reputation is the most important criteria from the perspective of all respondents. Meanwhile, family history is the least important criteria. On the other hand, the different demographic characteristics and different education background are also analyzed. Based on gender, male and female agree that image and reputation as the most important criterion. Based on marital status, married men, unmarried men, unmarried women also choose image and reputation as the most important criterion but married woman is prefer select confidentially and security criteria. The students of MM, MEP and Maksi select image and reputation. Meanwhile, MSi student chooses confidentiality and security as the main criteria in selecting wealth manager. In a 2005 survey of high net worth individual by IBM Business Consulting Services, the most important criteria for selecting a private bank is quality of client service. Meanwhile, in this research, the most important criterion is image and reputation. Those indicate that there are different perspectives. It can be caused by different culture, habit and behavior, life style and history.
