Description
Summary:This research aims at determining whether spatial abilities and learning styles correlated with mathematics ability of elementary children. The subjects were 51 students of second grade in four elementary school in Yogyakarta were selected by using random sampling. Data collection methods that used are tests of mathematics ability, spatial ability tests and learning style scale. The analysis of research is using nonparametric correlation analysis Spearmans rho to test the correlation between mathematics ability with spatial ability for each learning style category. The analysis shows that there is no correlation between spatial ability and mathematics ability at each learning style. Learning styles konverger with r = 0,667 (p> 0.05), learning styles diverger with r = 0,599 (p> 0.05), learning styles asimilator with r = 0,142 (p> 0.05) and learning style akomodator with r = 0,425 (p> 0.05). These results suggest that the three variables not related to each other, spatial abilities and learning styles no relationship with mathematics ability of students, especially students who become research subjects.
