Description
Summary:Jatropha oil extraction process produces waste in the form of oilcake seed, this waste will interfere with the environment if not properly managed and utilized. Amid the difficulty of getting dust rocks that have been widely used as a filler mixture of asphalt, then try other alternatives as a filler material in the asphalt mix, using a jatropha oilcake seed to ashes through the combustion process, expected later ash oilcake seed jatropha can be used as a filler and was able to fix characteristics of asphalt mixtures, which can help the government in using recycled materials to produce useful products. The research was conducted by making specimens HRS-Base mixture with 5 filler variation, namely variation 1 (100% dust rock + 0% ash oilcake seed jatropha), variation 2 (75% dust rock + 25% ash oilcake seed jatropha), variation 3 (50% dust rock + 50% ash oilcake seed jatropha), variation 4 (25% dust rock + 75% ash oilcake seed jatropha), variation 5 (0% dust rock + 100% ash oilcake seed jatropha), the testing was done by Immersion Marshall test with 0.5 and 24 hours, and Indirect Tensile Strength test. Optimum asphalt content for a variety of 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5, respectively 6.5%, 6.7%, 6.9%, 7.2%, and 7.4%. The use of ash oilcake seed jatropha in the mix HRS-Base cause the value of density, VMA, stability, and Marhall Quotient decreases, while the value of flow increases, and the value VITM, and VFWA no significant changes, along with increased use of filler ash oilcake seed jatropha. Immersion Index value generated for variations 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 respectively 94.4%, 90.5%, 88.6%, 81.4%, and 82.2%. While the value of Tensile Strength Ratio (TSR) is generated for variations 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 respectively 90%, 84%, 77%, 73%, and 68%.
