Summary: | Any Diesel Power Electricity Generator (DPEG) production activity can develop
hazardous wastes and can be potential to polute environment if it do not be well
maintained. This is a qualitative research with descriptive analysis using the data research
of hazardous wastes management of DPEG Unit of Tello Makassar and PT. Multazam as
supported data. The data are collected through observation and also interview with
quesionaire and depth interview techniques, that were selected with purposive sampling
technique. The purposes of this study are : (1) to identify kinds, sources, and
characteristics of DPEG Unit of Tello Makassar hazardous wastes based on Indonesian
Goverment Regulation No. 18 period 1999 Jo Indonesian Goverment Regulation No. 85
period 1999, (2) to study the hazardous wastes management system and the factors that
influence, and (3) to propose steps of solution for fixing and rearranging DPEG Unit of
Tello Makassar hazardous wastes managemnt based on applicable procedures and
conditions.
The data analysis results show that: (1) lubricating oil used, fiber asbestos, and
contaminated solid dust cloth, and the biggest wastes was lubricating oil used from the
production process (generator lubrication) and the volume is 707,60 tons (hazardous
wastes balance sheet of Juli 2011- Maret 2012 period) that was a potential pollution
resources for company environment |
