Not only for the growth of the fetus, but also for psychological health of the mother during pregnancy. Mothers may suffer from distress which may lead to depression during pregnancy and postpartum. Stress management skill is necessary among women with premarital pregnancy so that they are able to go through pregnancy with healthier psychological condition. The hypothesis proposed in the study was that adaptive coping strategy training may change coping strategy and reduce distress level among women with premarital pregnancy. The design of the study was quasi experiment and it involved 5 women with premarital pregnancy as participants. Measurement was conducted using Coping Scale and Pregnancy Distress Scale distributed to participants before the training, after the training, and two weeks after the training was conducted. Quantitative analysis was conducted using Mc Nemar test and Wilcoxon sign ranks test. The analysis result showed that there was no change of coping strategy with p = 1,000. It also showed that there was no significant reduction of distress level among participants after attending adaptive coping strategy training coping strategy with z score = -1,753 and significance level or p = 0,080. However, based on the result of qualitative analysis, each participant showed reduction of different distress aspects.
