Efforts fertilization was held but it is hampered by high prices and limited availability. Alternatives to replace kcl is the coconut husk ash has a high of K. The purpose of this study was to determine the optimum dose of coconut husk ash and the availability of K in the soil which can influence the growth of cocoa seedlings were good. The experiment was conducted at the Garden Tridarma Gadjah Mada University Faculty of Agriculture, Banguntapan, Bantul, Yogyakarta in February- June 2012. The study was conducted using a completely randomized design (CRD) single factor consisting of six treatments with three replications. A01 (control 1) = 100% KCl recommendations, A02 (control 2) = without fertilizer ash and kcl, A1 = coconut husk ash equivalent of 50% kcl recommendations, A2 = coconut husk 100% recommendation kcl equivalent, A3 = coconut husk ash equivalent to 150% recommendation kcl, A4 = coconut husk ash equivalent to 200% recommendation kcl. Overall there were 15 experimental units. Conducted a preliminary analysis of the soil and coconut husk. Parameter observations consists of soil fertility parameters after incubation (ph, BO, KPK and K available soil), soil fertility after planting (K available and soil ph), leaf area, canopy dry weight, root dry weight, plant height, stem diameter, number of leaves, the rate of photosynthesis, stomatal width, total root length, uptake K. Variance analysis was performed with the Duncan multiple range test level 5%. Results showed treatment 200% effective coconut husk ash increases soil K available until the age of 4 months after planting. But not significantly different from 150% coconut husk ash. Treatment of 200% coconut husk ash (39.25 g) shows the availability of K in the soil remain high at 4 months after planting but not significantly different from the treatment of 150% (29.44 g) and 100% (19.64 g) coconut husk ash . Doses of 200% (39.25 g) coconut husk showed the highest K uptake but not significantly different at 150% (29.44 g) and 100% (19.64 g) coconut husk. Has not achieved the optimum dose that can enhance the growth of cocoa seedlings to plant dry weight parameters and uptake K.
