ETD The use of antibiotics oxytetracycline (OTC) on farms and aquaculture impact on the antibiotic residues in food and the formation of bacterial resistance to OTC in animals and humans. This study aimed to 1) determine the sensitivity of Aeromonas salmonicida and Aeromonas hydrophila against OTC in fish flesh. 2) OTC residue levels in meat and fish for 4 weeks after treatment. A totally of 50 healthy tilapia fish are divided into 3 groups. Group 1, no treatment were 10 fish tail, group 2 and 3 amounted to 20 birds infected intramuscularly with A. salmonicida and A. hydrophila each 0.1 ml concentration of 106 CFU cells/ml. Treatment is 6 days post-infection with Oxyvet ® for 5 consecutive days in the marinade with a dose of 30 mg/L, for 4 hours. On the 7th day and 4 weeks posttreatment killed each 5 fish in each group for the detection of antibiotic residues qualitatively and quantitatively. Qualitative test method by Kierby Bauer. Quantitative test antibiotic residues using High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC). In the qualitative test was detected no residues in meat OTC tilapia at 7 days and 4 weeks post-treatment. In the quantitative test fish infected A. salmonicida showed OTC residues at 7 days of treatment, an average of 0.115 ug/g, and in the 4th week post-treatment was 0.006 ug/g were in the group of fish infected by A. hydrophila at 7 days post-treatment showed a residual OTC 0.088 ug/g and at 4 weeks post-treatment, was 0.002 ug/g. Histopathology of fish infected by A. salmonicida showed Inflammation of the gills, skin, kidneys, heart and intestinal infections seem more severe than A. hydrophila.
