Description
Summary:research The purpose of this was to test the effect of free trade cooperation between ASEANIndia and ASEANKorea in the scheme ASEAN-India and ASEAN- Korea free trade agreement (AIFTA and AKFTA) by using the Global Trade Analysis Project (GTAP) model. The variables tested in this study include welfare, gross domestic product (GDP), trade, investment and sectors analysis. The results of this research indicate that, in general AIFTA positive impact on ASEAN (except Cambodia and Laos) and India both short and long term. The existence of a structural adjustment of the few sectors that are traded. While AKFTA, have a positive impact on some ASEAN member countries simply in the long term. AIFTA have a greater role in improving welfare, GDP, trade volume and investment in ASEAN than AKFTA. The implication of this research is the need for reallocation of resources held by each country towards the sectors that have a comparative advantage. It should be a policy priority that leads to the FTA that provides greater benefits for its members. The creation of a single market with the FTA scheme, which aims to enhance the role of each member and a single price for the same product, so that the pattern of specialization will be formed.
