Background : Leptospirosis is a zoonotic disease and it is a health problem in tropical and sub-tropical. Based on the reports of the Provincial Health Office Yogyakarta, leptospirosis incidence has been increasing since the year 2009-2011. Diagnosis of leptospirosis in humans can be established with the clinical symptoms and confirmed by laboratory tests is primarily based on serology. Transmission of leptospirosis in humans is closely related to knowledge, attitude, behavior and house sanitation. It is important to evaluate the relationship between knowledge, attitudes, behavior and house sanitation with the occurrence of leptospirosis in Bantul Yogyakarta. Purpose : To estimate the seroprevalence of leptospirosis and measure the relationship between individual factors (level of education, knowledge, attitudes and behaviors), and house sanitation with the occurrence of leptospirosis. Method : This was an observational analytic study with cross sectional design (cross-sectional). Data was collected through interviews and observations of respondents and 50 blood tests with Lepto Tek (Focus Leptospira IgM cassete). Data analysis were done with univariate and bivariate (Chi square). Result. Among the 50 respondents, 78% with low education, average age 52 years, 44% had poor knowledge, 66% being well, 48% not well behaved, poor sanitation 38%, 84% saw a mouse in the house and 76 % livestock raising. The results of blood tests of 50 respondents using Focus Diagnostics Anti-Leptospira IgM Cassette, 11 of them positive (22.0% seroprevalence) Conclusion : Knowledge and behavior, by bivariate analysis correlated with the occurrence of leptospirosis in Imogiri Bantul.
