| Summary: | Kotagede Subdistrict is one of the areas in Yogyakarta which is known as the
silver craft centers. There have been many problems for small industrial silver,
especially after the earthquake in 2006. Besides the application of the high taxes
on raw materials and the price of silver is not stable due to the mastered
marketing channel by the wholesaler. The presence of silver industry in Kotagede
that still survive and has long been present, would affect the level of employment
absorption and the workers income.
