Description
Summary:One type of waste generated from the process of making jelly from seaweed paper Gracillaria sp is a form of wasted pulp. Seaweed pulp contains fiber which has the potential to be used as paper. Making paper from raw seaweed processing waste is considered still has drawbacks in terms of bond strength of paper produced. One solution to overcome these obstacles is to provide the addition of other materials also contain fiber. Materials that can be added in the process, namely the former HVS paper. Making paper from both the combination of raw materials is expected to develop the technology of paper making and produce formulations to produce the highest quality of paper in terms of parameters gramatur, tear index, index of cracked / broken, and tensile strength. This study examines the manufacture of recycled paper pulp mixture proportions variation Gracillaria sp. and former HVS. Mix proportions used are the dregs Gracillaria sp. and former HVS paper respectively 60%: 40%, 40%: 60%, 20%: 80%, and 0%: 100% (control). Paper recycling has value gramatur respectively at 81.533 g/m2, 77.80 g/m2, 78.50 g/m2 and 78.20 g/m2. Tearing index values generated consecutive mNm2/gr 1.55, 4.86 mNm2/gr, mNm2/gr 8.11, and 12.15 mNm2/gr. Bursting index values respectively for ND (not detected), ND (not detected), k.Pa m2/gr 0.275, and 0.643 k.Pa m2/gr, and elongation strength values respectively of 1.43%, 1 , 69%, 1.81%, and 1.60%. This study shows that recycled paper produced from the highest quality pulp composition of 20% + 80% marks HVS.
