Description
Summary:Biofertilizers microbes are ideally produced in p.a (pro analysis) qualified medium. This method leads to high cost production, less economically competitive in the market. This research was aimed to study the effect of technical grade media on the growth and activity of biofertilizer bacteria. Bacterial activity assays include : nitrogen fixation, production of Indole Acetic Acid (IAA), and P solubilization. The inocula was also applied as fertilizer to maize. Specific growth rate of the tested bacteria on p.a and technical grade medium were 0,090-0,285 and 0,089-0,413 per hour, respectively. Technical grade medium significantly influenced the bacterial activity on nitrogen fixation and production of IAA, but there was no significantly influence on P solubilization. Application of the bacterial inocula was insignificantly effect on the growth of maize including plant height, root and shoot weight.
