This study aims to: (1) analyze and describe the kinds of study programs and spreading of existing Vocational High School (VHS) in Bantul regency related to the potential area or region, (2) describe the local students' perceptions of the relationship between the kinds of study programs chosen with the desired range of student work of VHS in Bantul regency, and (3) analyze and describe the suitability of a selected range of study programs chosen by students with the potential area or areas in vocational schools in Bantul regency. This study used descriptive qualitative-quantitative method with an inductive approach. The scope of the study sites included 41 vocational schools located in Bantul regency. Vocational High School (VHS)-spread in 17 districts in Bantul regency. The type of data required is the primary data and secondary data. Techniques of data collection was gained through interviews, questionnaires, observation, and documentation. The qualitative data obtained from interviews, questionnaires, observation, and documentation were analyzed by descriptive qualitative. The quantitative analysis in this study used techniques percentage (%). The results showed that the kind of existing of study program at VHS Bantul regency is in dominant compliance with the regional Bantul regency potential. This is shown as many as 39 kinds of study programs or by 78.0 percent in accordance with the potential VHS region. Nevertheless, there are as many as 5 different of study programs or 10.0 percent of the most appropriate and most others do not correspond to the potential of the area, and as many as 6 kinds of study programs at 12.0 percent or not at all correspond to the potential of the region. The results showed that in general, students choose at their own range of study programs. Some students choose sort of study program as the choice of parents, and a few other students chose sorts of study program as part of it. Students generally choose the kind of study programs much needed in the world of work. Judging from the work site or location desired vocational students after graduation, most students choose work outside the Bantul regency in various cities in Indonesia and internationally. A small proportion choose to work in Bantul regency. The results showed that the range of the selected of study programs of the students have relevancy to potential areas Bantul regency. This was indicated by the wishes of students largely choose to work outside Bantul regency because in this region there are not yet available jobs according to skills of students. This linkage is also indicated by the level of compliance with the potential range of study programs both state and private VHS still less that is 22 percent to state VHS and 35.28 percent for private VHS.
