the need for a stand-alone, unemployed husband, the impact of inflation on the
prices of basic necessities led to an ever increasing family budget. This,
encouraging women to have a dual role in the household. PT ASDP Indonesia
Ferry (Persero) is Indonesia's state-owned enterprises engaged in transport
services and pedestrian crossings port operator for passengers, vehicles and goods.
The existence PT ASDP area Merak is encouraging an increase in economic
activity to the surrounding population. It is being utilized by the local people,
especially women to make a living mostly work as traders.
This study uses a sample of respondents numbered 46 households with
working wives. The method of analysis used average two different test methods
and TSLS (Two Stage Least Squares) method. This study analyzed the effect of
variable income from a regular and side wife�s job, income regular and side
husband�s job, the income of other family members, revenue from shipments,
revenues are not routinely received last month, and revenue from the contracting
home to household spending and saving in about PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry
Merak, Tamansari, District Pulomerak. The results showed that household
consumption is largely met by the head of the family income from a regular job.
In addition, the role of wife who works more encouraged to increase household
savings rather than to meet household expenses. The amount of revenue is
affected by age and type of job wife. |
