The purpose of this research was to study the histopatologic changes of bone fracture that immobilized with intramedular pin. Sixteen male white rats (Spragui Dawley) 3 months of old, 247 grams of body weigt were used as experimental animals, they were divided into two groups of 8, each group was given with different treatment. The first group was used as control group (A). The second group was treated with intramedular pin (B). Started in 24 hours after surgery then followed in week one, week two and week four, two rats were euthanized respectinely. Bones were then fixed in 10% formalin, for histology preparations. Based on all of result in were concluded that femoral bone fixed with intramedular pin has increased the number of the fibroblasts, osteoblasts and osteoid. Microscopically, callus fibrokartilagonosa formation also appeared more dense after four weeks.
