This graduating paper titled �Translation of Kitsune Children�s Story� by Niimi Nankichi. The writer chooses this title because of the interesting story, containing myth, Japan�s culture, and good moral values. The other reason is because this literary works have not shown and translated for final task of translation title before. The objection of this graduating paper is to translate the child story �Kitsune� into a good Indonesian so that it can be understood easily by the readers. Afterward, the writer is going to expand the moral value contained of the story. When translating this story, the writer uses communicative method. This method is chosen because it tries to maintain the contextual meaning of the source language to the target language, Therefore the story and the language can be easily accepted and understood by the readers. The principle used as the base of this method is the writer�s understanding of the foreign language which can be conveyed to the readers. This story tells about the myth of fox. It is said if someone wears new geta in the moonlight they will be visited by fox. The moral values that can be taken from this story is it is better that the unconfirmed myth should not be believed easily. It is due to the negative thinking that will emerges afterward such as afraid, worry, and prejudice that had been experienced by Bunroku and his friends.
