Summary:Background : Menopause is a normal way for every woman. Women age cause organ function showed a significant change. Women will experience disorder menstrual patterns, physical and physiological changes in the phase of menopause. Such changes lead to physical and psychological symptoms that can affect sleep quality in menopausal women. Objective : To determine differences in sleep quality in late reproductive, menopausal transition and early postmenopause, to determine menopausal symptoms and to determine differences sleep quality with menopausal symptom. Method : Quantitative research with cross sectional design. The experiment was conducted in March-May 2013, with research subjects 85 menopausal women in Tegallayang Caturharjo Pandak Bantul selected with a total sampling methods. Data were colected using an instrument Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) and Menopause Rating Scale (MRS). Statistical analysis using the Kruskal-Wallis test. Result : There were no differences in sleep quality in late reproductive, menopausal transition and early postmenopause (p=0,083). Most of the menopausal women experienced menopausal symptoms in psychology (61,3%) and somatic domain (66%). Significant differences sleep quality with menopausal symptom at somatic domain (p=0,000), psychology domain (p=0,007) and total menopausal symptom (p=0,001). Conclusion : There were no differences sleep quality and stages of menopausal at Tegallayang. The menopausal symptoms that many felt in the domain of psychology and somatic. Differences sleep quality with menopausal symptom in the somatic domain, psychology domain and total menopausal symptom.
