Description
Summary:Sub District Gedhangsari is one of the region's second largest producer of rice in Gunungkidul. Hargomulyo Village is the capital and center for rice-producing district in Sub District Gedhangsari. Agricultural activities in the Village Hargomulyo have used farm machinery to increase agricultural production especially rice. The aims of this research was to determine the activity of rice production that allegedly produces carbon emissions greenhouse gas contributor. The second aim is to calculate and estimate the amount of carbon emissions produced at each farm production activities. Data collection in this study conducted by field surveys. A questionnaire was used as a means of data collection activities in agricultural production. The sample in this study is a family of farmers who live in Hargomulyo Villages and have main livelihood of farmers. The sampling method used was simple random method (simple random sampling) by the number of samples taken 92 families of farmers. The analysis technique used is accompanied by a descriptive presentation of data in tables and graphs to classify agricultural production activities that generate emissions. Analysis results showed activity of rice production in Hargomulyo Village consists of land cultivation, breeding activities, maintenance activities, harvesting activities and the utilization of residual agricultural activities. Most of the agricultural activities in the Hargomulyo Village done in a way that still uses the traditional manual tools combined with the use of agricultural machinery. From the results of the study it can be concluded that the activity of production of rice in the Hargomulyo Village carbon-emitting activity is cultivation reached 9.26 tons / year, maintenance activities with estimated emissions of 516.74 tons / year, harvesting activities of 83.15 tons / year and the total emissions of 605.15 tons / year.
