Summary: | The use of technology as a tool for accounting process has recently been
growing rapidly in various industrial sectors, including the banking industry. Bank
Indonesia, as the central bank that conducts increasingly complex operations
overtime is required to be able to provide sufficient useful information for an effective
and efficient decision-making process. Due to this fact, the development of the End
User Computing applications is one of the fields that need to be paid attention to.
Aside from selecting the appropriate technology, having the competent human
resources in utilizing the application is also important in achieving an optimal
information technology. Thus, this study aims to determine the personality factors
and cognitive styles that influence the level of computing skills possessed by the staff
of Bank Indonesia as the users of the application BI-SOSA(Bank Indonesia-
Sentralisasi Otomasi Sistem Akunting). The results of this study show that computer
anxiety-fear, computer attitudes-pessimism, computer attitudes-optimism, computer
attitudes-intimidation, cognitive style-weberian, cognitive style-originality, and
cognitive style-mertonian have an influence on the level of computing skills possessed
by the staff as the users of BI-SOSA. On the other hand, it is shown that computer
anxiety-anticipation and math anxiety do not have an influence on the computing
skills of the staff as the users of BI-SOSA. |
