Summary:PT. Indonesia Nippon Steel Pipe is a company engaged in manufacturing, which produces components for two wheelers and four wheelers. Components produced for two-wheeled vehicles include: front fork for PT. Showa Manufacturing Indonesia (SIM), Mufler pipe for PT. Yutaka Manufacturing Indonesia (YMI) and others. To the four-wheel drive are door impact beam for PT. Astra Daihatsu Motor (ADM), rear axle for PT. Inti Ganda Perdana (IGP) and others. For YMI mufler pipe produced in sub division yutaka. pipeline fabrication process flow are: Cutting, Bothside, Punch, and Packing. The pipe produced directly sent to the customer. But after that, there are complains from the customer. This caused by the number of pipes those are not exactly 50 pcs. Sometimes the pipe-packing in less than 50 pcs. Then came the idea to create a device or a system that is expected as a solution to the problem. The idea is to create a new box design. The design is to add an aluminum plate to the rack and draw with Autodesk Inventor 2010 software. The aluminum sheet has 50 holes with a diameter of 30 mm, adapted to the quantity of orders by the pipeline customers. Once the design is finished, then followed by the process of aluminum machining sheet using a CNC machine. At the assembly in the box, nuts bolts add with cable poles tis as a binder between the shelves to the wall box. Once finished, aluminum racks are assembled, and a trial is performed with the new box. The result was compared between with the old box. From the experimental results, the process of packing with the new box showed a reduce errors when mufler pipes are filled into the box. Additionally cycle time can be reduced by 12%.
