Summary:Background: Less integrated health service can increase the upkeep. This can be avoided by collaboration among health workers. The collaboration should be learned early, one of the important step is in internship period. The effective collaboration strategy is Interprofessional Education (IPE). IPE will go well with readiness of the students. Various demands on the internship students create psychological constraints that need adjustment or coping mechanism. Objective: This study aims to know association and difference between coping mechanism and readiness of IPE with the component�s readiness on nursing and medical internship student in Faculty of Medicine, UGM Methods: non experimental by quantitative approach and correlational analytic descriptive study, cross section design, quota sampling technique on 76 medical and nursing internship student in Faculty of Medicine UGM. The Readiness Interprofessional Learning Scale (RIPLS) and Ways of Coping instrument used in this study. Results: There was no association between coping mechanism with Readiness of IPE on medical and nursing internship student in Faculty of Medicine UGM (p=0.053). There was no difference in coping mechanism between medical and nursing internship student in Faculty of Medicine UGM (p=1), however there were difference in Readiness of IPE between medical and nursing internship student in Faculty of Medicine UGM (p=0.001). Conclusions: There was no association between coping mechanism and Readiness of IPE among internship student in Faculty of Medicine UGM.
