Summary:Fossil energy sources still dominate the world's energy needs. The energy crisis becomes a threat to humans because limited amount of fossil as energy resources. Development of renewable energy sources to reduce dependence on fossil energy sources are required. This study aims to utilize and process corn cob waste (Zea mays L.) became one of renewable energy resource such as charcoal briquettes. This study try to evaluate the effect of variations in the adhesive concentration and press load and also to know the optimum adhesive concentration and press load in corn cob (Zea mays L.) charcoal briquettes. Corn cob waste was charred using electric retort with carbonization temperature 400 °C for 3 hours.
