Caries dentis is tooth disease, signed by demineralization of inorganic materials and destruction of organic materials. The process of caries is affected four major factors, among others host, microorganism, substrate, and time. Caries may caused by many factors, one of them as the effect of drug abused. Methamphetamine known as shabu-shabu is an adrenergic drugs, which act by its contribution to the rampant caries. The aim of this study is to know the level of caries dentis severity on methamphetamine abusers in Yogyakarta's narcotics prison. The subject of this study is 51 of methamphetamine abusers inmates Yogyakarta's narcotics prison, that taken by consecutive sampling technique. Standart oral examination were done on each of the subjects. Caries dentis is scored by DMF-t index. Due to the level of caries dentis severity is qualitative data, so where were presented at tables and graphics. The result of DMF-t scores of this study are very low (9,80%), low (11,80%), moderate (19,60%), high (13,70%), and very high (45,10%). It that the caries dentis severity of methamphetamine abusers in Yogyakarta's narcotics prison was very high concluded as categorized by DMF-t.
